The walk

How a relationship with God works

You can just talk to him.

Pour out your heart before him.

Psalm 62:8 · Matthew 6:7-8 · Matthew 11:28-30 · Hebrews 4:14-16

The scene

Prayer doesn't need a special voice.

You don't need impressive words or to make every sentence sound religious. Talk to God about what is actually there.

"Father, I'm scared."

"Thank you. Today was good."

"I don't know what I'm doing."

"I know that was wrong. Forgive me."

"I'm worried about her."

"I don't know what to say."

Jesus has already told you that your Father knows what you need before you ask him. You're not telling him anything he doesn't already know. You're bringing your life to him.

Jesus tells the weary and burdened to come to him. The New Testament book of Hebrews says we can come boldly to the throne of grace, to receive mercy and find grace when we need help.

The Bible says:

"Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us."Psalm 62:8

So pour it out.

You don't have to tidy everything up before you speak or pretend you're doing better than you are.

You can say: "Father, this is where I am."

And tell him the truth.

The point

Bring your life to him.

Sit with this

Talk to him.
