The man
Light of the World
Not everyone wants the light.
I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.
John 8:12 · John 3:19-21
The scene
Jesus said:
"I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life."John 8:12
John had already said why someone might avoid the light:
"The light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil."John 3:19
It goes on:
"For everyone who does evil hates the light and doesn't come to the light, lest his works would be exposed."John 3:20
"But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God."John 3:21
Sin you didn't recognise before can start becoming difficult to ignore, first in yourself and then in the world around you, although you never stop needing that light yourself.
The point
